Patient counseling at the pharmacy counter is our cherished skill. Assuring that the patient understands his/her medication is just as critical as getting the prescription filled and delivered. Without a discussion with the pharmacist, the patient simply leaves the pharmacy with nothing more than the directions on the label. The consumer medication information may not make it into the patient’s prescription bag. This is often shown to be not enough.
